I can’t believe we are actually here and 2019 has come and gone in a blink. We all knew it would sneak up on us and it definitely has. Having another year go by is bitter sweet. I feel blessed and sad all at the same time.
Although I probably didn’t achieve as much as I wanted to in 2019, 2020 brings not only a new year, but a new decade we are entering into. It is a time to hit the refresh button on your goals and gain a renewed sense of inspiration for so many things both personally and professionally.
Looking back on this last year though, I am thankful for so much. My daughter is developing into an amazing human being and in the awful “teen” years, her and I are as close as ever. Professionally I stepped out of my comfort zone and challenged my fear to speak publicly. I went from never wanting to talk in front of groups to traveling around to participate in educational conversations. It landed me in Vegas, Dallas, North Carolina, and locally a few times. I joined the IFDA (www.IFDAFlorida.com) to take on a board position in community relations in which I was able to organize some great events to give back within the community. Several months into that position, they asked me to be the new President starting this January. I have also been lucky to have some great clients this last year too.
I can only hope the year ahead has some exciting and beautiful moments in store. I would like to hold myself accountable within this blog and list some of my 2020 goals:
Be the best mom I can be
Take more time for me (in which I struggle to do as I am sure many of you can relate to)
Work out more regularly again and eat healthy
Crush (or “kill it” as my daughter told me to do in 2020) my professional goals- too many to specifically list
Continue to do more community service and better the world we live in
Make the IFDA Florida members proud to have me as their new President
These are just a few easy ones I can touch upon. If you are willing to share some of yours, I would love to hear them in the comments. Either way, I thank you for following me along on my design journey. I wish you all the best that life has to offer in the year ahead. Happy New Year to all of you. Bring it on 2020! XO ~ Michelle
